Whitney Houston - Do You Hear What I Hear

YouTube
Whitney Houston sings, "Do You Hear What I Hear", in this video. I'm glad she left us some Christmas songs. We can't spend Christmas with her, but we can in her music with our families. We still have her in our memory, and she will not be forgotten.

Whitney Houston - One Wish for Christmas

Whitney Houston's song, "One Wish for Christmas", is a beautiful song. I never heard it until it was posted on Twitter by whitneyfanclub. What a beautiful song to listen to as we think of Christmas. We carry Whitney to our Christmas.

Whitney and Michael Should Have Made a Record Together

Google Image
It is said that Whitney and Michael never made a record together. Michael Jackson wanted Whitney to record his duet, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" in the 80's. Whitney was burning up the charts and her first album was hot. It is said that Whitney's record label, Arista, would not take Michael's offer. They were afraid that she would be overexposed. Sounds like a poor excuse to me whatever that means. I have never heard of such a thing in my life from the music business. Both Whit and Mike were hot. If you are hot, you are hot. Why would there be a problem? Yes, Whitney was new and that would not have been a good excuse either. Whitney was already known when she sung with Jermaine Jackson which is Michael's brother. The world was just beginning to know Whitney during that time. People love to hear great singers together whether they are new or not. People loved Jermaine and Whitney when they sung a duet together. As a matter of fact, I remember hearing them sing two songs together. They were, If You Say My Eyes are Beautiful, and Nobody Loves Me Like You Do. Whitney Houston even sung with Teddy Pendergrass. Michael was the king of pop and Whitney was rising high. They were both great singers.   I don't know what Arista's problem was truly. Whitney and Michael should have made a record together.

Well, Whitney went on singing down through the years and never made a record with Michael. Why come? What was the excuse after she had been in the business making hits for a while? If I had been thinking like I am thinking now, I would have been signing a petition. Well, it's too late now.

The Voice Whitney

Will there be another Whitney Houston? Of course not. No one can sing quite like Whitney because God gave her voice to her only. That does not mean that there can't be more great singers. However, I do not believe that there will be anyone exactly like Whitney. No one else has her personality with her voice. God made only one Whitney.  The voice Whitney is the one and only one. People can mock and people can imitate, but no one can duplicate and be as great. Not as Whitney Houston that is.

Whitney Houston - Never Give Up

google image
Whitney Houston sings and tells the world to Never Give Up. This is an unreleased recording. Sometimes it seems like Whitney knew what everybody was feeling even though she didn't know every individual. It seems as if she knew what people were going through and what they were about. Whitney shared with us her words in songs. Her songs speak to us.

Star Spangled Banner Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston performed the Star Spangled Banner song in 1991 before the Super Bowl. I had graduated from high school the year before. I still had dreams of being a singer, but that was a dream for me. While I was out of high school with no job, I had to think reality. 1991 was the year that I was just sitting around the house. The day that I saw Whitney singing the Star Spangled Banner on television was like a performance I had never heard before. The Star Spangled Banner was a song you had to sing right, and Whitney blew everybody away. My mother who was a critic said, "Gail, Whitney has made history now." Sure enough, Whitney did.

When Whitney was through performing, I said, "Mama, if I ever become a singer, I'm not singing the Star Spangled Banner song. I'm going to write my own. People are too critical on how people sing the Star Spangled Banner, but no one can touch Whitney Houston."

Whitney Houston Was Planning Unplugged Tour

Whitney Houston’s Manager Says Singer Was Planning "Unplugged" Tour, More Movies

If Whitney Houston hadn’t tragically passed away in February, what would she be doing now?  According to her former manager and sister-in-law, a lot — including touring. “There was a continuation of doing things in her career but doing it her way, because she’d been in the industry for such a very, very long time with a lot of people telling her what she should or should not be doing,” explains Pat.  “She was finally doing projects that she wanted to do, and it started with Sparkle.”

Gail: Hearing that Whitney planned to do things her way in her next projects makes me glad although she's gone.  An independent Whitney is what I was seeing all the time.

Whitney, Why Did You Leave Us?

Whitney, why did you leave us?
This world can make us sad
But you had Jesus
And you showed it
We saw you
Didn't you know it?

Whitney, why did you leave us?
You helped us singing, Jesus
It taught us trust
In God we must
The demons were stomped in dust.

Whitney, why did you leave us?
I bet now you know you were the winner
You had so much knowledge in the Lord
You weren't just a beginner.

Whitney, why did you leave us?
Sit down and rest a while
I know you're in heaven
On earth you were tired
To this life you gave your final bow.

Whitney Houston - An Instrument of Stone Love

WHITNEY HOUSTON WAS AN INSTRUMENT OF STONE LOVE. SHE WAS A GREAT SINGER THAT SUNG FROM THE HEART. EVERY NOTE FLEW INTO OUR EARS.

Miki Howard Talks About Whitney Houston

YouTube
Miki Howard: She made it possible for so many others like Alicia Keys......

Miki Howard: Beyonce coming out with her but out; we could never do that.

_______________________

Miki Howard said great things about Whitney. I wish someone could have said the things she said when Whitney was alive. I admire the fact that Whitney didn't dress half naked and shake her behind in the cameras. She was a woman with class. Whitney was not really of the world. Even those that put Whitney down could see that she was special. They just wish that they had what Whitney had. Whitney was wearing the crown. She was a winner and not a looser. People tried to make Whitney feel like she was a looser so that she could be a looser. If only Whitney knew, and I think she did know. Sometimes it hurts when it seems like the whole world is against you no matter what you may have. I think the world was ready for Whitney and accepted her in the beginning. Then a new and young generation came for music like Beyonce.  There is one thing that I could see. Whitney never stopped fighting, and it was just time for her to leave us when she did. Whitney still had fans, and her death has brought that out. If people couldn't see that before, they see it now.

Whitney Houston - Dress and Handkerchief Biblical Colors

YouTube
Whitney Houston is wearing a beautiful red dress. She always carried a white handkerchief while performing. It always reminded me of what church was like. I remember people carrying handkerchiefs to church. I remember the preacher wiping the sweat from his forehead preaching so hard. Whitney was old school and carried church with her. She never forgot to sing a church song.

As I watched Whitney perform in her red dress holding her handkerchief, the colors of the dress and handkerchief spoke to me biblically.

(Isaiah 1:18) Come now, and let us reason together, said the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Whitney Houston Was Seeking Our Real Role Model

Whitney sung: Everybody's searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found any one who fulfilled my needs
A lonely place to be
And so I learned to depend on me.

It is said that when Whitney Houston died, she wanted to see Jesus. People, Jesus is our real role model. People make mistakes, but Christ is perfect. People can let you down, and we can let ourselves down. We are nothing but flesh and blood. Christ is more. Let Jesus Christ be your role model and look up to him. If you do that, you will be headed in the right direction. Christ is the son, and he can lead you to his father which is God. Where is God? God is in heaven.

What is all this talk about the price of fame? Who invented it? When you have fame in God, there is no evil price. Men have a way with words. Fear nothing but God and follow him. You will reap the good that you do. Stay away from Satan and the things that he has to offer. If we don't, then yes, there is a price we have to pay, and it can be a terrible one. If you love God, you can love yourself. You can have some good long years on this earth. The greatest love of all is God. Let him be your everything.

If Whitney Houston Could Come Back

Google Image

SAY ONE MORE THING ABOUT WHITNEY HOUSTON!!!

A Whitney Houston fan on Twitter posted a photo of a woman knocking a woman out. In big letters the poster read, Say One More Thing About Whitney Houston!!! When I saw the tweet and the photo, I had to laugh. It was exactly how I felt when Whitney died. People were saying all kinds of things about Whitney. Some people picked and laughed at her death. They had no respect for her. Some people complained that they were tired of hearing about Whitney. Well, I was tired of the disrespect and tired of the people that were throwing stones. Some of the people that were running their mouths were on the verge of being drug addicts, fighting depression, and everything else too.  Sometimes I had to bite my tongue to stay away from a big argument.

Whitney Houston - Million Dollar Bill Club Remix

YouTube
Whitney looked as if she enjoyed making the music video, Million Dollar Bill. Someone made a club remix of the video. The way it was made is how I see Whitney. I saw Whitney as a woman that could really throw down if she wanted to. She needed someone to write more songs like Million Dollar Bill. There was more in Whitney, but someone needed to help bring it out. I believe that Whitney could dance if someone had taught her. Yet and still, we love what she did do and it was well done.

Whitney Houston - Miracle

YouTube
When Whitney Houston's song, Miracle, was released, it was the year of 1990. That was the year I graduated. Many thought I was a miracle, and I thought others were too. However, I didn't know that some of them were abused and so troubled in life. There are some that smile on the outside, and there are some that are sad on the outside. It's hard to guess what's truly on the inside. Some of my classmates are dead and gone. It's a miracle to be alive. Some people are here and can help each other, and we don't know who is going to leave this world first. We are always apart and too busy in life. Some families could be close, but there is always somebody keeping everybody apart. If you come from a close family, that is also a miracle. If you are able to help someone, you are that person's miracle. If you have a true best friend, that is a miracle. Cherish the good in life that you have because it's a mean world out there.

There were many mornings when I would wave goodbye to my mother standing in the doorway; knowing that someday she might leave me in this world alone. She was my miracle. She watched Whitney Houston with me, and little did I know that she would be another miracle to leave us so soon. Whitney Houston was a miracle that needed love. Fans let her know that they loved her music, appearance, and performance. I wasn't a screaming fan with pictures all over my wall buying every album she made. I wasn't allowed to worship any human being. I was taught that God is a jealous God (Duet.6:15).  I just listened to her songs and watched her performed, and it hurt so bad when I found out she was gone. I feel like I love her more than I ever did. When she was alive, I saw her as a star. When she died, I saw the human being and the love she had for her fans. The older you get, the wiser you become. That too is a miracle, and miracles come from God.

Whitney Houston Wins 8 American Music Awards

YouTube
It was fun looking back watching Whitney win 8 American Music Awards in one night. She really had a lot going on for herself. Whitney won over Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey back in 1994.

I'll never forget the year of 1993 when I worked at Moen for one summer. There was a girl working on the line with me always singing songs from Whitney's soundtrack, The Bodyguard. The movie was released in 1992. Now I see why Whitney won so many awards. Songs from the Bodyguard were strong, and the girl that worked with me at Moen sung them almost everyday. Her favorite was, I Have Nothing. Whitney's songs from the Bodyguard were played on the radio for a long time. Although the movie was released in 1992, Whitney was just receiving the awards. That's how long her success lasted.

ReRe and Matt (WAITING FOR MY CHILD TO COME HOME)

YOUTUBE
ReRe and Matt sung this song so well. Words cannot express how well they sung it. They performed on Apollo Kids somewhere around 2001. I have heard my mother sing this song a lot when I was a child. I remember my mother and father playing this song by an old gospel group called The Consolers. It was on an old 45 record. ReRe and Matt sung it better than them. It was beautiful when The Consolers sung it. The words touched your soul and you had to listen. It seemed a little sad and slow. It was more like a story and song. However, ReRe and Matt woke you up, and you become alert. They speeded the song up, and you felt like shouting.

Whitney Houston's Praying Mother

Google Image
Whitney Houston had a praying mother. She prayed for Whitney.  I know it for a fact. I saw Whitney's mom on television in the church praying for Whitney when she was in trouble a long time ago. When Whitney first became a star, I saw her mother with a worried look one time. She looked quite nervous. I believe that Miss Cissy Houston prayed for her child every day. That's why I never worried much about Whitney because I knew what a praying mother was. I had one. Every time something knocked Whitney down, she would bounce right back. She did that through out her career.

When I listen to ReRe and Matt singing, "Waiting For My Child To Come Home", I think of Miss Cissy when I hear the lyrics to the song. But now, Miss Cissy doesn't have to worry about Whitney because she know where her child is. Whitney is with the Lord. She's in good hands.

YouTube

I was talking to a lady a few days ago, and these are the words she said...if you see my child somewhere as you journey here and there, tell him I'm waiting for my child to come home.

Whitney Houston - Yes, Jesus Loves Me

YouTube
One night after Whitney's death, I went to sleep with her on my mind. I kept seeing her in my dreams. I heard her voice saying, "Don't let anyone trouble you. Go on and lift the Savior up though they are not impressed. Keep on thanking Jesus." The message is a true message. That's why I have posted this video of Whitney Houston. She is singing, Yes Jesus Loves Me.

Maybe it will happen one day in the future.

Billy Preston - Let It Be

There is just something about the song, Let It Be, written by the Beatles and played with the help of Billy Preston. Billy Preston also sung the song in concert. As I think about this song, I think about both Whitney Houston and my mother. My mother and I both dreamed the song on the same night one night while we were sleeping. Little did I know that my mother would someday leave me. God tells me that there is a blessing in her death, but I don't see it now. In order to see, I have to let her death be. When I think about my mother, Whitney, and Billy too, I'm hoping somewhere down the road we will all meet and we will greet. I believe that God took them all at a time or the moment when they were saved.

From YouTube
From ABC
As I watched Whitney play piano in an inter-view with Diane Sawyer, I saw that she could be a great piano player. As I watch Billy Preston play, I think of Whitney.

James Earl Jones and Diahhan Carroll to Play Whitney's Parents

According to the Urban Daily,  if there is a Whitney Houston movie, Idris Elba may play Bobby Brown. No, I hope not. He doesn't even look like Bobby. Not even a little bit. Idris Elba looks like he should play Whitney's brother. Then the article mentioned Jennifer Hudson or Halle Berry to play Whitney. I certainly hope not. It would be nice to find someone that can act and look just like Whitney. I know that there are at least some look-a-likes out there. Producers are looking at people that are already famous. That's fine, but when it comes to Whitney, there are some women out there living tough lives that can act out the real Whitney. I'm hoping for a look-a-like if a movie is to be made.

Google Images
James Earl Jones and Diahhan Carroll would be great to play as Whitney's parents. They are strong actors, and I have seen them play. They have been acting for years, and Whitney's parents would be easy for them to play. The way Whitney's parents are described is the role that James and Diahhan has acted out before to me.

Whitney Houston Look a Like

Google Image
I'm pretty sure that Whitney Houston has many look a likes, but I bet it would be hard to find someone that sounds just like her in singing too. There are Whitney Houston look a likes that sing, but I haven't heard anyone sound like her yet. If a movie had to be made about Whitney, it would be a blessing to find someone that looks just like Whitney. I do not think that would be hard. The lady in the photo, in the black dress, to your right, looks so much like Whitney. Now, she has the looks, but can she act?

Thoughts on R. Kelly

Wikipeda
When my mother was sick who died in 2001, she wanted to hear R. Kelly's songs. She did not care for R. Kelly's music but she seemed to like one of his songs. That was,"If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time". I played the song for her in the 90's and told her that it reminded me of something that she would say or write or sing. She said, "Hmm Hmm." The song was released in 1999. I wanted to write R. Kelly, but I was afraid. R. Kelly seemed like a bad boy type of guy to me. But there was something good that I always felt about him. My mother was old fashioned and warned me to be careful of writing some of the rich and famous. I took a chance and wrote R. Kelly, but he probably never got my letter.

In the year of 2000, I heard R. Kelly's song, I Wish. I didn't care for it right off of the bat until I saw the video. My mother was very sick in 2000 and said, "Let me hear some of his songs." She caught me off guard. I had been talking to her about R. Kelly's video. When she heard some of his music, she said, "It sounds like he might have had some troubles. Maybe he lived a tough life on the streets." I don't remember the song that we were listening to that made her say that. I played more than one of his songs. I think my mother saw beyond the outer appearance of R. Kelly on her sick bed. It wasn't like my mother to want to hear his music.

I just came across a video of R. Kelly receiving prayer in 2001. Again, that was the year my mother died. I'm wondering did my mother pray for R. Kelly too before her death. I believe R. Kelly has good in him.

R. Kelly Performed "I Look To You" Before Sung By Whitney

From YouTube
R. Kelly had written I Look To You for Whitney Houston a long time ago. It must not have been meant for Whitney to sing it right away. When she was getting tired near the end and wanting to see Jesus, that was the time for her to sing it then. I'm glad that R. Kelly saved the song just for her. He knew Whitney.

Whitney Houston & R Kelly

YouTube

You remember Whitney singing, I Look to You, written by R. Kelly? Of course you do. Now you can hear Whitney and R. Kelly singing it together. It sounds like somebody recorded R. Kelly singing it and added it on to Whitney's single. People have been doing that kind of thing a lot on YouTube. I guess this single has been done by professionals. I'm not for sure. It's hard to tell these days. There are some talented people out there. It's amazing how this was done and Whitney and R. Kelly didn't even sing it together.

Whitney sounds nice with R. Kelly. It would have been nice if he had done more with Whitney. I think that he would have been a great songwriter for her. She probably would have stood out even more with him. I think that it is good to work with more than one producer and songwriter. I'm glad Whitney chose to do something with R. Kelly before she passed away. Now R. Kelly has something special to remember about Whitney. I hope that R. Kelly continues to stay clean and do great things with his talent. I hope he will be around for a long time. We loose so many talented people, and it's always the ones with talent it seems. That kind of gets on my nerves. R. Kelly has a great ability to write R & B and Gospel. R. Kelly can bring out true voices in singing.

Whitney Houston - I'm Your Baby Tonight

YouTube
YouTube
When I first heard Whitney Houston's song, I'm Your Baby Tonight, I liked it okay. When I first saw the video, and have seen it a hundred times, it was just a video to me. But now, you hear a lot of stuff about Hollywood. There are signs and symbols that people talk about and pay attention to. In the 80's and 90's, I never knew about those signs and symbols. Nobody was talking about the all seeing eye on the back of a dollar bill. People were just excited about the music and videos and spending that dollar to buy music. Nobody was accusing Hollywood of being a cult like people do today. There were many young people that wanted to grow up to be Hollywood stars, and I use to be one of them. I heard a little bit of history about pyramids, but not to the point in which they talk about it today. It is also a symbol on the back of the dollar bill. Hollywood does use the all seeing eye and the pyramid a lot as a symbol. When I watched Whitney's video, I never cared much for the mirrors and shadows. Especially the mirrors. The mirrors in her video made me think of Bruce Lee whenever I saw them. My mind would go back to his movie, Enter the Dragon. It probably all means nothing, but it's good to know what's going on in our world. It's good to know about what we listen to and what we are looking at and what we might be getting involved in. We do have to be careful. If not, it could be our death in not knowing.

Whitney Houston - What Hasn't Been Told?

YouTube
YouTube
Reports won't stop about Whitney's death because people know something is still wrong. I wouldn't be surprise if somebody knows something more.  The story doesn't add up to a lot of people about Whitney's death because I believe there are some things that hasn't been told. All we know, she was on drugs, she had marriage problems, and the old Whitney was coming back. When things started looking good, things got worse. Shockingly, we heard and saw all over the news Whitney had died. The media blamed it all on Whitney, but I feel from the story that I heard about her death that there was something more going on. It seemed as if Whitney could not be herself. She told Diane Sawyer that she was not self-destructive, and I believe Whitney. At the same time, I believe Whitney was trying to tell us something. If she had something more to tell, she probably could not tell it to the world. If, and I say if there is something more to be known, the truth is going to come out one day. I believe that it will be God's will because he is truth. No lie can hide behind him.

Whitney Houston - Being Black

YouTube
Whitney: My root is not black. My root is gospel. My root is not R&B. My root is gospel music. That's where I come from. I come out of the church. Gospel is not something that you can categorize. It's not black. It's not white. It is a feeling. It is soul. It comes from the soul. It's something that you can't deny. If I wanted to, I couldn't........I try to deliver that in everything that I do.

My Opinion: Whitney was very mature in music. People said that she wasn't black enough, but I don't think some people really know what the meaning of black is. Whitney Houston was a mature black woman that sung from the soul. She was on a much higher level than hip hop. Being black doesn't mean that you are always  down and out. One day you might be down and the next day you might be up. One day you might sing about love and the next day you might sing about something else. One day you might sing one song one way and the next day the same song a different way. It all depends on how the spirit hits you. Nobody knows how you come and go. People can't figure you out when you are strong and spiritual. They know you have something and not like everybody else. So people covet and try to put a label on you because you won't go with the crowd. But when there is a spirit in you, you have to flow with that spirit. You can't be everybody else. That is what made Whitney Houston unique, and there will never be another Whitney Houston. God made only one. All of the things that people said about Whitney being black was just people that covet. God said, "Thou Shalt not covet anything that is thy neighbor's." It is the Tenth Commandment that God wrote. If you want something, ask God. The same God that gave Whitney is the same God that can give you too. All you have to do is ask. There is no need to covet and lie on anyone else.

Stevie Wonder - Whereabouts

YouTube
Stevie Wonder was a good friend of Whitney. They did a song together titled, "We Didn't Know". Nobody seems to have that music video uploaded on YouTube right now. However, someone did upload a video of them singing the song live on Arsenio Hall.

Stevie Wonder sung at Whitney's funeral. After he was finished singing, it made me think of the song that he made titled, "Whereabouts". When I think of Whitney, I think of that song by Stevie. It's a beautiful song.

Watching the Movie, Sparkle

Tonight, I watched the movie Sparkle of 2012. It was a good movie. Sparkle had the right name. She was the spark  that wrote great songs and sung background for her sister. Sparkle was also a singer and songwriter that sung solo in the end.

There were some things in the movie that looked familiar, but I do not have the spirit to talk about it. So I won't talk about it because I do not feel led to do so.

I enjoyed watching Whitney play the mother of the girls. Each daughter had something about them that was just like the mother. They all had talent, they all were strong, and they all took a chance in life to sing. However, each one had their own personality and chose different paths to take in the end. What I like most is the ending because the mother showed love for all of her girls.

Whitney Houston Dateline 1996

From YouTube
There was an interview of Whitney Houston on Dateline back in 1996. It was the kind of interview where you got to hear Whitney's side instead of the media. She talks about the gay rumors and her marriage to Bobby. You get a chance to see her mom talk about Whitney and you get to see Whitney as a mother as well. You also get a chance to see Whitney's praying and singing mom in the church. When I see the interview, I see that Whitney's role model was her mom. It appears that Whitney had a very good role model. She was raised to know God and how to live. Moms like that can't control everything while raising a child. Although they can make mistakes raising their children, they are about as perfect as they come. I had the same kind of mother. I know that mistakes in life can still be made because Whitney had to learn some things on her own. I know because I'm learning on my own without my mom. Children make their own mistakes too. However, I think Miss Cissy Houston did a great job, and I think that Whitney did fine considering life is hard. It is not always easy.

Whitney Brings Laughter to Theater (Sparkle)

I haven't seen the movie, Sparkle, yet. However, I know it's a great movie and intend to buy it on DVD. Today, I was just browsing the internet and saw this movie clip of Sparkle. It is when Whitney sees the girls on television and the audience in the theater finds it funny.

There are different stories being told about the people that went to see Sparkle. I've heard all kinds of stuff from the public to the radio. However, people that I know that went to see it said that it was a very good movie and that everyone should go see it.

Whitney Houston - Saving All My Love For You

From YouTube
When I first saw Whitney Houston's music videos, I knew she was an actress before she became one. I remember when I first saw her video, "Saving All My Love for You".  I thought, "Wow. The girl can act." As the video rolled along, I thought, "I don't know a man in this world that would try to resist Whitney." In the video, Whitney pretends to spend a lot of time in the studio with a married man. She seems to like the man and singing that she was saving her love for him. I looked at it as just entertainment, but Whitney was singing and acting it out so well. I thought, "I wonder did she actually have that experience in real life?"

From YouTube
My mother sat with me and watched the video. She said, "That guy in that video look just like Jermaine Jackson." I had to rewind the tape and take a second look at the video. If my mother had never said that to me, I never would have recognized the fact that he did. Then we remembered that Whitney did sing with Jermaine. As the video continued to play my mother said, "Gail, never get involved with a married man. You'll never have him. He'll be running back and forth between you and his wife. Never get a guy with a ready made family. He'll be paying child support. You don't want that." My mother talked with me through the whole video.

From YouTube

The thing that sticks in my head most about the video is the man's wife. She was looking at Whitney like she wanted to say, "Yea, I see you, and he's my man." In the video, Whitney was looking nervous. Whitney had me laughing. When I saw that lady looking down at Whitney, I thought, "Huh oh! That woman ain't stupid." The lady that played as the man's wife was also a great actress. I can't forget the look in her eyes.

At the end of the video, Whitney was walking alone. I sat wondering if Whitney really did have an affair with Jermaine Jackson. My mother always thought that Jermaine and Whitney liked each other. I didn't doubt it. My mother would say, "You can raise children, talk to them, and tell them, but that doesn't mean that children are always going to do what you say." Whitney's mom sounds a lot like my mom. Moms know their children. My mom would say, "I carried you for nine months, and I know about what you will do and what you want do." I use to tell my mother that Whitney was a good girl, and with the kind of mother that she had, she wasn't going to mess up too bad. My mom would say, "Yea, but Whitney ain't perfect. That's why her mom talks about her like she does. She had to whip Whitney's behind, like I had to whip yours. I need to whip it sometimes now."

To make a long story short, when I see Whitney, I see me. When I see her mother, I see my mother. I miss my mother, and I miss watching Whitney with hers. When Whitney died, it hurt because she felt like a part of my family. As I watch the video, "Saving All My Love for You", I can hear my mother spiritually saying, "Don't you forget Whitney."

Whitney Houston's B-Day Party of 1989

From YouTube

From YouTube
It was 1989 that Whitney had a big party on her birthday. I do not remember it at all. I never saw it pronounced on The Insider.  Well somebody did see it (deminoravideos), and it was nice that the video is shared on YouTube.

Bobby Brown was invited to Whitney's party.   No matter what kind of person Bobby was, Whitney recognized him. They were friends and seemed happier in those days. Whitney chose others as her friends like El Debarge, Isaiah Thomas, and Ashford and Simpson. These are good folks. People want to know why Whitney chose Bobby in her life. Well, at first, maybe she made a difference in his life by choosing him as a friend. As a friend, maybe Bobby made a difference in Whitney's life. It looks like he spent time with her. That's the kind of man Whitney looked like she needed. Maybe that's why Whitney married Bobby. Maybe their lives became complicated as entertainers when they got married.

My mother use to warn me about things that could happen in a marriage. She told me that there was sometimes competition in marriages and envy. I think the things that might have happened in Whitney and Bobby's marriage was normal like any other marriage.  You can be the greatest entertainer, but being a human being will never go away. There will still be ups and downs, disagreements, break-ups, and make-ups. That's just a part of life.  However, love should keep people together, but marriage is not for everyone.

Looking back at Whitney's party is a good memory. It was something new for me to see because it was my first time seeing it today.

Whitney Would Seek Those That Could Shoop

From YOUTUBE
Whitney Houston's concerts are fun to watch. If you were at a Whitney Houston concert in the past, you know that she would seek those that could Shoop. When this song was first released, I never saw her in concerts performing Shoop. I wish now that I had seen them. Whitney's concerts help to make her songs hits I do believe. I did not like Shoop when I heard the song, but her concert gave it a great illustration. It added more meaning to the song for me seeing Whitney reaching out to people and sharing her talent singing this song. It looked like promotion then and now more so than ever. Watching Whitney perform is like she really isn't gone from us. When we watch Whitney and her sense of humor, we can smile remembering her. Whitney made the Shoop song a great song with her love for people. I just didn't know Whitney the way I know her now. I appreciate her more with better understanding. Now when I hear the Shoop song, I hear it differently.

In the Audience, people loved Whitney. Some of them would go up on stage just to get a hug from her. One girl was so excited that she did not care to sing the Shoop song. She just adored Whitney.
If she could come back, the world wouldn't be the same. I mean in a good way. We need to see such miracle.

When You're High in Fame, They Say You're Gay

Have you noticed that every singer in Hollywood that is high in fame is considered gay. Come on! Everybody can't be gay. I never heard that Michael Jackson was gay until he started making millions with his Thriller album. He had been singing since childhood. People might have said that he was gay before his thriller album, but the rumor was heard strong when he hit big on his thriller album. Some thing's not right. I had to think about the time when Stephanie Mills and Michael were dating. It looked as if Michael loved women and especially Diana Ross.  Then they tried to say Michael was prejudice. If he was, he did not start out prejudice.

I'll never forget the time when I heard the rumor that Donna Summer was a man. This was long before the Internet came around. I thought, "No, not Donna Summer. She doesn't sing like a man. Sounds like she's loving men to death in the way that she is singing her songs. Looks like she was born a woman to me. It's all in her attitude, actions, and ways." Somebody said to me, "Yea, but they never show pictures of her in her teens or childhood." Well today, I learned more about Donna Summer. I learned that she was married and had two beautiful daughters.

Oh, and I can't forget Whitney Houston. When Whitney wasn't as big as she is today, nobody said nothing about her being gay. Then after she made big money, everybody started saying that she was gay. It was all in the tabloids. I remember the first time it was printed. Believe it or not, there are some people that do not remember the gay rumors of Whitney Houston. That is because a lot of people did not care. They loved her music and thought she was beautiful. They remembered the rumors of her and Jermaine Jackson more than the gay rumor. They remember all of the guys she dated like Eddie Murphy. Whitney was a good church going girl. I suppose nobody likes that in the entertainment world. You have to be bad and follow the crowd. Well, Whitney had her faults and made mistakes. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't give a rip about those mistakes. The only thing that I wish she hadn't gotten involved in was the drugs. She probably was so weak and down and out that she just didn't care. I have felt like that every blue moon in my life, but God gives me the strength to keep going and teaches me that I should not give up.

People, do not let anything or anyone control you and take over your life. Stay away from bad things and people that do not solve the problems in your life. That means religion, family, alcohol, drugs, and whatever it may be. The answer is in God, and remember, when you are high in fame, no one is greater than God.

Isaiah 45:5
am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
