Whitney and Michael Should Have Made a Record Together

It is said that Whitney and Michael never made a record together. Michael Jackson wanted Whitney to record his duet, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" in the 80's. Whitney was burning up the charts and her first album was hot. It is said that Whitney's record label, Arista, would not take Michael's offer. They were afraid that she would be overexposed. Sounds like a poor excuse to me whatever that means. I have never heard of such a thing in my life from the music business. Both Whit and Mike were hot. If you are hot, you are hot. Why would there be a problem? Yes, Whitney was new and that would not have been a good excuse either. Whitney was already known when she sung with Jermaine Jackson which is Michael's brother. The world was just beginning to know Whitney during that time. People love to hear great singers together whether they are new or not. People loved Jermaine and Whitney when they sung a duet together. As a matter of fact, I remember hearing them sing two songs together. They were, If You Say My Eyes are Beautiful, and Nobody Loves Me Like You Do. Whitney Houston even sung with Teddy Pendergrass. Michael was the king of pop and Whitney was rising high. They were both great singers.   I don't know what Arista's problem was truly. Whitney and Michael should have made a record together.

Well, Whitney went on singing down through the years and never made a record with Michael. Why come? What was the excuse after she had been in the business making hits for a while? If I had been thinking like I am thinking now, I would have been signing a petition. Well, it's too late now.
