Whitney Houston and Why Fans Cried

To those fans that cried over Whitney, it is because you had some kind of care in your heart for her. It is as simple as that. It's okay to cry. (John 11:35) Jesus wept.

There are comments online from fans that say they couldn't stop crying over Whitney Houston when she died. Some people are very cold towards those fans in comments and towards Whitney's death. Some of them don't care anyway and make fun of everything until troubles come their way. Some were too busy fault finding. Some have issues that so many cried over Whitney and no one seems to be crying over starving children. Well we can reach out to some of them and keep some of them from dying. There are people helping them. So it's not true that nobody seems to care about them. Whitney was just a human being like you and I. Were you there to tell her about God? Do you know about God? We need to shut up when we are not trying to pick people up. Whitney did know to seek God in her time of troubles and wanted to be with him. I'm sure God was listening to her heart and was glad that she was still seeking him regardless of her problem. So there is hope that we might see Whitney in heaven. We can only hope for the best. People just need to stop judging one another and stop putting labels on one another. I do not care how bad a person may seem, we are not right for judging according to the Bible (Matt. 7:1). God made her and no one can grade her.

Whitney had a rough time after she was addicted to drugs. That can happen to you and I just taking a strong pill for pain. I'm sure there are folks that would point a finger and judge our lives too. Don't' think that it can't happen to good old you. You don't have to be famous. People need to stop hating and start praying for one another. It does not matter who or what you are. It does not matter if you are rich or poor. It does not matter to God because he is there for us all. We are all human beings and are going to die one day. We are going to turn back to the dust. (Ecclesiastes 3:20) All go to one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

Of course, many cried over Whitney because her music became part of their lives and entertainment. We knew her name, we knew her face, and some of us hoped that we could meet her some day. I didn't expect her to care about me because I know that she didn't know that I existed anyway. If I had written her a letter, she probably never would have gotten it. If it had been a letter about how much I loved her music, I would have been just another fan. Maybe she would have written some of us back if we had written her as a friend. Maybe she would have gotten the letters. Some of us truly cared and saw Whitney as a human being. There is a big difference between a fan and someone that cares. Whitney did things of this world and not everything she did was bad in it. We all live in this world and is a part of this world. That is what God intended. It's when things take over your soul away from God that is bad. That is what worldly means. We all have problems and addictions. However, when you stop seeking and loving God, you are lost when you don't know Jesus. Whitney knew him.
