Throughout Whitney's career, there has always been questions. Whitney Houston was like the wind. Sometimes she laid low. Sometimes she came out like a lion crouching and preparing to make a new stand. And when Whitney Houston did make a move, all eyes were on her. Even in her last days. And suddenly, she was gone.
Whitney Houston tried to tell us who she was when she was here and what she was about. Listen
Whitney Actor: You should have been around. I've been criticized about my singing. When I did the Star Spangled Banner, they questioned was that really me singing. I'd like to get married and have some kids. I don't have to have an album out. They just talk about me. I can do a gospel album. Something I've always wanted to do. I'm definitely gonna make that my next priority. It's finished."
Those were quotes of Whitney Houston from the interview of Ed Gordon in 1993. From what I gather, Whitney Houston was tired of the media criticism. She mentioned in her song, "Watchulookinat" from 2002 that she tried to show the world what she did. She mentioned how they tried to dirty up her name, how they were messing with her reputation and concentration. She said, "I feel eyes on me. You been telling lies on me."
But Whitney Houston has many fans. They know what she has done, and they know what she's about. I say that she's a Leo Icon. Whitney had a very successful career. If you listen to the media, you won't really know the truth about Whitney and who she really was and is.
