Whitney -The Voice That Never Stops

Whitney Houston’s voice doesn’t fade away, even when the record stops spinning.

For many, Whitney Houston was known as "The Voice" – a once-in-a-lifetime singer with a range that could shake walls and touch souls. But for this listener, Whitney’s role has grown beyond the stage. Even in silence, I can still hear her.

She’s not always singing, but speaking. Softly. She guides me to relax. And I feel in spirit, she doesn’t want me to forget her.

ðŸŽ¶ Sit down and rest a while
 ðŸŽ¶ Don’t you let go

Whitney Houston’s voice transcends in my mind.

This feeling is not unusual for devoted fans of legendary artists. Psychologists call it a “persistent sensory experience” – when the memory of a beloved voice feels so real that it becomes a kind of inner companion. For this individual, Whitney Houston’s voice isn’t just a recording. It’s a presence.

Experts say that for many people, music legends like Houston live on through memory, and with me it’s also sound.

Whitney Houston passed away in 2012, but for me, her voice never left. And in a way, that’s what makes a legend truly legendary: not just the songs they sang, but the comfort they still provide long after the music stops.

Envisioning Alfre Woodard as Cissy Houston

Alfre Woodard has played a strong role as a mother when she played “A Mother’s Courage: The Mary Thomas Story.”I envision her as playing as Cissy Houston, the late gospel and soul icon that passed in Oct. 2024. Hear my thoughts of Alfred Woodard in the podcast.

Shirley Caesar Tells the Children They Are the Future

Whitney Houston would sing “I Believe the children are the future” many times singing “The Greatest Love of All.” It was a wonderful and great thing that Whitney was singing songs like that. I don’t know if she knew at that time. She was very young.

Today, her gospel friend Shirley Caesar is also singing that kind of message about the children. Shirley Caesar tells the children they are the future for tomorrow through the gospel.

Shirley Caesar’s career began in 1951, when she signed to Federal Records at the age of 12. Throughout her seven decade career, Caesar has often been referred to as the "First Lady of Gospel Music" and "The Queen of Gospel Music"
